Key Responsibilities:
The HR Generalist will undertake a variety of essential functions, including but not limited to:
- Exemplifying Berry's core values and behaviors, demonstrating professionalism in all interactions.
- Promoting a safe work environment and serving as a role model for safety practices and communication.
- Managing payroll processing for hourly employees within the plant.
- Conducting interviews and facilitating the onboarding process while ensuring compliance with legal standards.
- Handling data entry for payroll management, timekeeping, and employee records.
- Maintaining organized filing systems for personnel, medical, training, and Form I-9 documentation.
- Overseeing staffing processes, including temp-to-hire recruitment and collaboration with approved agencies.
- Utilizing HR software, including AS 400 System, for new hire setups and status changes.
- Tracking attendance, monitoring points, and managing absence documentation.
- Ensuring timely completion of performance reviews.
- Collaborating with HR management to assess training and development needs.
- Assisting in employee relations as needed.
- Conducting new hire orientations to cover benefits, policies, and employee needs.
- Administering employee benefits and providing necessary contact information for changes.
- Managing unemployment claims by filing timely responses and attending hearings as required.
- Maintaining positive relationships with Group Leads and Supervisors.
- Performing additional duties as assigned by the Human Resource Manager.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant federal, state, and regulatory laws and guidelines.
Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of experience in Human Resources.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or Social Sciences.
- Strong communication skills.
- Excellent organizational abilities.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
