Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Community School Resource Manager to oversee the comprehensive management of our Community Schools program. This role includes providing direct services to youth and families, coordinating community resources, and collaborating with educational institutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee multiple program components, executing a variety of tasks that require extensive knowledge of youth and family development as well as community resources.
  • Establish a structured framework for daily program operations that implements strategies to ensure high-quality service delivery and positive program outcomes.
  • Align program resources to effectively meet the needs of youth and families, ensuring systems are in place for crisis intervention, discipline, supportive counseling, advocacy, service referral, and follow-up.
  • Act as the primary liaison with school representatives regarding information, explanations, and approvals related to the program.
  • Foster and maintain positive relationships with community members while engaging in public relations activities for the program.
  • Develop partnerships with parents, educators, community members, and organizations to provide on-site services and resources that address the needs of youth and families.
  • Exercise independent judgment to make decisions based on established precedents, including in unique situations where no specific policy exists.
  • Handle confidential information responsibly, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Manage program hiring, disciplinary actions, performance evaluations, and terminations, while approving subordinate actions.
  • Provide orientation and ongoing training for employees and volunteers on topics such as youth development, family dynamics, understanding poverty, and community resources.
  • Ensure the development and maintenance of program policies and procedures, along with the upkeep of all program records.
  • Monitor program activities, ensuring accurate data entry into required systems and generating reports as necessary.
  • Contribute to program budgets and fiscal planning, ensuring activities remain within budgetary constraints.
  • Participate in grant writing efforts to sustain or expand programming as assigned.
  • Collaborate with other OCO programs and provide consultation as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a Human Services Field.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training will be considered.

Essential Skills:

  • General knowledge of organizational policies and procedures.
  • Strong desire to work with youth and families, along with a thorough understanding of youth and family development.
  • Professionalism, good judgment, flexibility, and the ability to work collaboratively in a supportive manner.
  • Supervisory and leadership skills, with experience in staff hiring, scheduling, and disciplinary processes.
  • Ability to plan and direct the work of others, set priorities, problem-solve, and innovate in program planning.
  • Knowledge of public services and resources, with experience in community collaboration.
  • Facilitation skills and experience in training others effectively.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including experience in policy writing and budget management.
  • Availability to provide direction and support in unusual situations on a 24/7 basis.
  • Valid NYS Driver's License with a good driving record and access to reliable transportation.
  • Acceptable physical and mental health to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.
