Roles and Responsibilities:
Assessment and Analysis: Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' current information governance practices, data management workflows, and regulatory compliance requirements. Analyze findings and identify gaps or areas for improvement.
Strategy Development: Develop tailored information governance strategies and roadmaps based on industry standards, regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), and organizational goals. Define policies, procedures, and controls to govern information lifecycle management.
Policy and Procedure Development: Design and implement information governance policies, data classification frameworks, retention schedules, and disposal protocols. Ensure policies align with legal, regulatory, and business requirements.
Compliance and Risk Management: Monitor regulatory changes and industry trends related to data privacy, cybersecurity, and information governance. Implement controls and measures to mitigate data risks and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Data Privacy and Protection: Develop strategies and controls for data privacy and protection. Implement privacy impact assessments (PIAs), data anonymization techniques, and access controls to safeguard sensitive information.
Training and Awareness: Conduct training sessions and workshops for employees on information governance principles, policies, and best practices. Raise awareness of data protection obligations and responsibilities across the organization.
Technology Integration: Evaluate and recommend information governance tools, software, and technologies to automate governance processes, improve data quality, and enhance compliance monitoring capabilities.
Audit and Assurance: Perform periodic audits and assessments of information governance practices, data handling procedures, and security controls. Generate audit reports, findings, and recommendations for management review and action.
Change Management: Lead change management initiatives to promote a culture of information governance and compliance within the organization. Collaborate with stakeholders to drive adoption of governance policies and practices.
Client Advisory and Consultation: Serve as a trusted advisor to clients on information governance matters. Provide strategic guidance, insights, and recommendations to senior management and executive leadership.
