Position Summary:  A renowned leader in the energy and power sector is seeking a meticulous and organized Accounting Assistant to support our Accounts Payable Department with various clerical and data entry tasks. The ideal candidate will have a background that includes basic accounting principles, with excellent communication skills and exposure to relevant accounting software.

Responsibilities:

  • Clerical Support: Perform basic office tasks such as filing, data entry, answering phones, and processing mail.
  • Transaction Processing: Enter financial transactions into internal databases accurately and efficiently.
  • Invoice Management: Reconcile invoices, issue checks, and ensure all discrepancies are resolved promptly.
  • Expense Reporting: Create and update expense reports, process reimbursement forms, and prepare financial reports.
  • Communication: Handle communications with clients and vendors via phone, email, and in-person.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain both digital and physical financial records, ensuring they are organized and up-to-date.
  • Audits and Fact-Checking: Assist with audits, conduct fact checks, and help resolve any discrepancies in the accounting records.
  • Support Accounting Projects: Provide additional support on various accounting projects as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar is desired, and further education or certifications are a plus.
  • Experience: Prior work experience as an Accounting Assistant, Accounting Clerk, or similar role.
  • Skills:
    • Experience with Microsoft Excel and/or accounting software such as QuickBooks.
    • Strong typing skills and attention to detail.
    • Familiarity with basic bookkeeping procedures and finance regulations.
    • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
    • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
