Accounts Payable Representative

Signature Homes is currently seeking an Accounts Payable Representative for our Hoover, AL office. The right candidate will be a detail-oriented person who is enthusiastic about improving the overall efficiencies of our team and able to achieve consistent and accurate work with accounts payable transactions.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive and review invoices for appropriate documentation prior to payment
  • Perform invoice and general-ledger data entry into accounting software
  • Execute credit card payments & reconciliation
  • Run AutoPay reports to pay vendors with purchase orders
  • Review all bills for appropriate general ledger codes and process for payment
  • Obtain and print signatures on all checks
  • Upload EFT payment files to the bank
  • Reconcile vendor statements when received
  • Communicate with business partners and vendors to resolve and clarify invoice discrepancies and payment inquiries
  • Participate in ad hoc accounting projects, financial analysis, and reporting on an as needed basis.
  • Responsible for vendor management including setting up new vendors and updating vendor records as necessary
  • Assist other team members, Controller and CFO as needed

Skills and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Basic understanding of accounting concepts and procedures
  • 2+ years experience as a part of an accounting team is a plus
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work and work effectively in a collaborative team environment as well as independently
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
