The Federal Environmental Proposal Manager leads Sundance’s proposal development and coordinates Sundance’s marketing activities. In this role is responsible for creating winning proposals, compelling marketing materials, and connecting Sundance brand with Sundance staff and clients, and ensures Sundance’s marketing content is clear, concise, and consistent for all shared communication platforms.


Duties & Responsibilities

The Federal Environmental Proposal Manager duties and responsibilities includes:


Proposal Effort

  • Support pre-positioning activities, including capture planning, strategy development, competitor analysis, teaming arrangements, and client mapping as a key member of a team that includes President, Strategic Director, Business Unit Managers, technical staff, and, in some cases, subconsultants.
  • Participate in business development meetings capturing meeting notes and action items.
  • Provide leadership and direction for a range of pursuit complexities, including large, complex strategic pursuits from pre-positioning to presentation.
  • Set and lead pre-RFP meetings in preparation of upcoming release of solicitations.
  • Set and lead pursuit development meetings, including Go-No-go, kick-offs, and strategy development/updates.
  • Set and lead proposal meetings associated with released solicitations.
  • Create and update Proposal Templates to have a base format to allow award-wining and client focused strategic response to solicitations that highlight and emphasize Sundance’s differentiators.
  • Analyze RFQ/Ps, Synopsis and evaluate submittal requirements for IDIQs, BPAs, C-contracts, task orders, call orders, SF330s, etc.
  • Storyboard pursuits in collaboration with the graphic designers and technical staff to develop impactful graphics, meaningful themes, and strategic messages that are evident throughout the submission.
  • Guide and assist technical staff, as necessary, on the development/improvement of their technical narratives.
  • Coach presenters on content development as well as presentation style and delivery.
  • Initiate and participate in client debriefs to integrate lessons learned in future submittals.
  • Work collaboratively with technical professionals on all levels and gain their trust.
  • Work with the proposal teams to develop original content for inclusion in the proposal or response to solicitation, including cover letters, executive summaries, and graphics development.
  • Drive the leadership of color review meetings to facilitate meaningful input and productive content revisions enhancing the overall impact of submittals and to keep on schedule.
  • Proofread and edit /edit all aspects of submissions for compliance with RFQ/P requirements and brand guidelines.
  • Coordinates writing and graphics support services to achieve pursuit objectives and meet deadlines, performing quality and compliance reviews.
  • Update the Opportunity Pipeline to reflect changes to pursuit status.

Marketing

  • Creates Sundance brand designs and layouts for print and digital logos and collateral files.
  • Accountable for managing a variety of marketing initiatives that drive brand engagement, awareness, and distribution.
  • Analyzes market trends and conducts competitor research to stay “current/fresh”.
  • Supports opportunity site monitoring and opportunity evaluations for additional opportunities for teaming and upselling.
  • Provide input into the Opportunity Pipeline for new and upcoming opportunities.
  • Update and maintain the Sundance website in coordination with the IT Manager.
  • Create and updates communicates and distributes the Sundance Marketing Style guide.
  • Proofread and edit /edit all Brand materials.
  • Coordinates across the True Environmental joint marketing activities with partner firms and True Environmental.
  • Prepare creative, strategic, high-quality capability statements and power point presentations to align with client mission and needs.
  • Design impactful graphics, meaningful themes, and strategic messages.
  • Manges the distribution of brand content across social media platforms and tailors’ posts to each platform's functions and features to maximize media impacts.
  • Oversees the production of content that drives traffic to Sundance’s website.
  • Creates timely and energetic LinkedIn posts.
  • Proofread and edit /edit all media posts.
Requirements:

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications can include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in either Business, Marketing, Advertising or related field
  • 10+ years of relevant experience including brand management, advertising, or marketing in the environmental industry.
  • Experience working on the diversity of Federal agencies, General Services Administration, Department of Defense and Civilian Agencies client and proposal requirements as well as state, local and commercial clients.
  • Working knowledge of Federal acquisition regulations.
  • Working knowledge of federal acquisition platforms, SAM,GOV, etc.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with emphasis on persuasive writing/editing and presentation development ability.
  • Proven success as a proposal manager – experience overseeing, coordinating, and performing all aspects of proposal including strategy and messaging, graphics, technical teams, and production.
  • Ability to produce high-quality materials under deadline pressure.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (high proficiency in InDesign a plus) and Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Strong writing, editing and computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, InDesign).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to simultaneously coordinate multiple pursuits at various stages of development.
  • Ability to manage projects and lead cross-functional teams with limited supervision.

Preferred Qualifications can include:

  • This role requires an individual to have a passion for brands, be comfortable with ambiguity, have strong attention to detail, enjoy delivering results and be motivated by a fast-paced environment.
  • Section 508 Compliance familiarity (US Workforce Rehabilitation Act).
  • Professional Certification (eg APMP, Shipley, PMP etc.)
