ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Identify and qualify new opportunities through Commercial Real Estate Firms, Construction Management Firms, and Higher Education Institutions
  • Knowledge and resource to above markets
  • Strategic sales planning – Insight selling
  • Industry organization participation
  • Build and maintain network of Commercial Real Estate, Construction Management Firms, and Higher Education stakeholders

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

New Business Development

  • Identify Commercial Real Estate (CRE) firms, Construction Management Firms, and Higher Education Institutions and key decision makers that would likely be attracted to the Interior Investments brand, business philosophy, and value proposition.
  • Understand drivers for each role within identified firms and develop plans of engagement specific to each.
  • Secure introductory meetings with identified firms contacts.
  • Seek referrals and leads from CRE firms.
  • Routinely scan industry news and trade media to identify potential opportunities; maintain awareness of competitors’ activities.
  • Work collaboratively with MillerKnoll’s primary representatives.
  • Make cold calls as needed.
  • Participate in internal New Business Development team meetings to communicate leads and opportunities.
  • Maintain forecast of new business opportunities.

Sales & Marketing Support

  • Work with sales teams to leverage relationships in support of bid or proposal development to enhance win ratio. Participate in project strategy development and action plans.
  • Utilize an Insight selling approach to develop customized solutions and presentations for key influencers. Present company services and differentiators to influencers.
  • Assist with budgets.
  • Conduct or participate in showroom tours and sales presentations.
  • Provide input and recommendations regarding Marketing communications to target the audience.

Relationship Building: Networking, Promotional Events & Public Relations

  • Cultivate a broad network of CRE, CM, and Higher Education contacts.
  • Spearhead public relations events and educational activities that are intended to raise Interior Investments’ visibility, reputation, and stature as well as showcasing the company’s products, services, and integrated service capabilities.
  • Identify and participate in appropriate networking venues and activities.

Account Management

  • Serve in a consultative role. Position Interior Investments as a strategic partner in securing new business.
  • Demonstrate a keen understanding of each CRE, CM and Higher Education’s business drivers and challenges as well as the industry as a whole and provide insight to key contacts in support of that data.
  • Increase Interior Investments’ top-of-mind awareness to secure and enhance key relationships by preparing and following quarterly action plans, including regular status calls and periodic in-person meetings.
  • Monitor organizational changes or realignments within targeted firms that may impact future recommendations.
  • Secure timely meetings on “hot” projects.
  • Generate awareness of new products; conduct new product presentations as needed.
  • Coordinate vendor trips.

WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE:

  • 4-year college degree.
  • Herman Miller product knowledge.
  • Minimum two years professional experience in commercial real estate, interior design or architectural firm, or within a commercial office furniture manufacturer or dealership.
  • Knowledge of commercial interior design principles.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to build personal connections by gaining the trust and respect of others.
  • Ability to actively and perceptively listen to others and respond with empathy, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Strong customer focus. Highly responsive to customer needs; consistently demonstrate a commitment to achieving the highest level of customer satisfaction.
