Position Summary:

The Vice President of Finance is a key executive role responsible for the overall financial strategy, planning, and management of the company. This role is critical in ensuring the company's financial health and driving growth through sound financial practices. The Vice President of Finance will oversee all financial operations, including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, tax, and compliance. They will also play a pivotal role in strategic decision-making, providing financial insights to the executive team and the board of directors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement the company's financial strategy, aligning with the overall business goals. Lead long-term financial planning and forecasting efforts to ensure sustainable growth and profitability.

  • Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and management reports. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards.

  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process and ongoing forecasting activities. Monitor financial performance against budgets, providing analysis and recommendations to improve financial outcomes.

  • Risk Management: Identify financial risks and implement strategies to mitigate them. Ensure adequate internal controls are in place to safeguard the company's assets and maintain the integrity of financial data.

  • Cash Flow Management: Oversee cash flow planning and ensure the availability of funds as needed. Optimize the company's capital structure and working capital to support operational and strategic initiatives.

  • Investment Management: Evaluate investment opportunities and make recommendations to the executive team. Manage relationships with investors, lenders, and financial institutions.

  • Tax and Compliance: Ensure compliance with all tax obligations and regulations. Oversee the preparation and filing of tax returns and coordinate with external auditors for annual audits.

  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth. Promote collaboration and communication within the finance department and across the organization.

  • Strategic Partnership: Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and executive team, providing financial insights and guidance on key business decisions. Participate in board meetings and present financial reports to the board of directors.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • A minimum of 10-15 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful financial strategies.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage with stakeholders at all levels.
