Lighthouse Therapeutic Services is a trauma and recovery informed mental health and substance abuse agency that specializes in treating adults. We are licensed by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services to provide ASAM Levels 2.1 and 2.5 services.

As an essential member of our direct care team, the Peer Support Specialist reports directly to the Clinical Director and works with a multidisciplinary team of Allied Health Professionals using their personal experience in recovery to connect with those we serve on a deeper level. The ideal candidate will provide empathic understanding, share coping strategies, and serve as a role model for those seeking help. Most importantly, the Peer Support Specialist will be instrumental in bridging the gap between clients and collaborating treatment providers, offering a unique perspective that enhances the overall support and recovery process.

Responsibilities


The Peer Support Specialist in this role is responsible for providing prevention, outreach, and comprehensive harm reduction strategies within the community and:

Facilitates active engagement with individuals who use drugs and alcohol using a collaborative, person-centered approach grounded in harm reduction and trauma informed practices.

Distributes and recovers harm reduction supplies and provides education and support on safer drug use

Conducts street-level outreach activities to people who inject drugs in areas identified as high-risk or high-need

Works one-on-one with clients to set goals in achieving positive change as they define it

Identifies clients in need and provides appropriate referrals, including assisting clients with accessing community support services.

Develops and maintains partnerships with local service providers to reach focus population.

Provides personalized assistance to clients to assist with navigating dimensions within their recovery process

Perform other appropriate duties as assigned.
