Position Overview

Lighthouse Therapeutic Services is in search of dedicated and knowledgeable professionals to join our team as Addiction Recovery Specialists. This role is essential in guiding individuals through their recovery journey by leading group therapy sessions within our Intensive Outpatient and Partial Hospitalization Programs.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate daily educational sessions on substance use, focusing on relapse prevention and psychoeducational topics.
  • Provide one-on-one counseling to clients dealing with substance use issues and co-occurring mental health conditions.
  • Document daily progress notes for each client interaction to track their development.
  • Utilize assessment and interviewing techniques to formulate appropriate treatment plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Conduct comprehensive clinical and biopsychosocial assessments.
  • Implement regular and random urine drug screenings for clients.
  • Make informed recommendations for care based on assessments, ensuring the least intensive level of care is prioritized.
  • Develop and execute personalized treatment plans that address the specific needs identified during assessments.
  • Provide crisis intervention when necessary and engage in additional projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

Knowledge Required:

  • Understanding of individual, group, and family counseling techniques relevant to mental health and substance use disorders.
  • Familiarity with ASAM Criteria and DSM-5 diagnostic standards.
  • Awareness of ethical considerations regarding dual relationships, confidentiality, and legal obligations.
  • Proficiency in various substance use assessments and inventories.
  • Experience with Motivational Interviewing, relapse prevention strategies, and the 12-Step approach.
  • Knowledge of care coordination practices for substance use treatment.

Education and Experience:

A Bachelor’s Degree in a human services field with CSAC certification is required. A Master’s Degree with an active license to practice in Virginia (LPC, LCSW, or other LMHP) is preferred. Candidates who are license-eligible may also be considered.


Licensure:

Preferred licenses include LPC, LCSW, or LSATP.
