Job Status: Part-time or Full-time

Job Location: Hybrid or Remote

Hours: M-F 8am-430pm

Summary:

The Billing Specialist will help develop, write, and send out bills to individuals and insurance companies in both our Mental Health and 245G Program.

The Billing Specialist position will support anti-oppressive/anti-racist practice, and trauma-responsive practice in all aspects of their interactions with staff, community, and company stakeholders through their administrative and operations support of program staff working on site and in community to address socioeconomic and health disparity. Comfort and proven experience and interest in working with staff with a range of identities including age, developmental and acquired disabilities, religion, spirituality, ethnicity, race, socio-economic status, sexual orientation, relationship structure, indigenous heritage, national origin, immigration status, and gender is required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain financial records
  • Post and allocate payments using Procentive
  • Prepare and file insurance materials
  • Provider Enrollment
  • Credentialing
  • Coding
  • Rates
  • Inspecting for Units and hours
  • Submit and manage billing Tickets in Procentive
  • Invoicing Grants
  • Confirming monthly client eligibility
  • Tracking IOP hours for stipend payments
  • Review service lines for errors
  • Ensure Maximum billing achieved
  • Collections, maintaining collection accounts with prompt tracking and follow-ups
  • Medical/mental health billing
  • Maintain records on insurance and clients
  • Follow up with insurance carriers on unpaid or rejected claims
  • Resolve issues and re-submit claims
  • Work with clinicians as well as medical staff to be in compliance with agency requirements
  • Other related duties may be assigned

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Highschool Diploma, secondary education is advantageous
  • 3-5 years' experience of proven billing experience
  • Detailed orientated and organized
  • Problem solver & independent
