New York, United States City Harvest, Inc. Full time
Job DescriptionJob Description

Institutional Partnerships Manager

ABOUT CITY HARVEST:

City Harvest is New York’s first and largest food rescue organization, helping to feed millions of New Yorkers who struggle to put meals on their tables. During our 40 years serving New Yorkers in need, we have rescued more than one billion pounds of fresh, nutritious food and delivered it free of charge to hundreds of food pantries, soup kitchens, community partners, and our own Mobile Markets across the five boroughs. This year, we will rescue and distribute more than 77 million pounds of nutritious food to our neighbors in need. City Harvest works alongside our community partners to boost community capacity, expand nutrition education, and strengthen local food systems. Since our founding in 1982, City Harvest has always been there to feed our city one day, one meal, one New Yorker at a time.

JOB OVERVIEW / WHAT A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT LOOK LIKE:

City Harvest is seeking an Institutional Partnerships Manager to be a key part of a growing and dynamic team that raises more than $13 million in annual revenue from foundation, corporate, and government sources. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, highly-organized, creative, client-centric individual with excellent critical thinking skills, impeccable attention to detail and a strong ability to meet and prioritize deadlines.

  • Actively manage a portfolio of approximately 50 to 75 partners and prospects—supporting the Institutional Partnerships team in raising more than $13 million in annual revenue from foundation, corporate, and government sources.
  • Strategize and execute on moves management across portfolio, participating in regular calls, meetings, and site visits with partners/prospects.
  • Draft high-quality grant deliverables (i.e. proposals and reports) and other fundraising materials, leveraging existing resources and collaborating around new collateral where needed.
  • Conduct regular research on partners and prospects to support pipeline development.
  • Work across the organization—including programs, operations, and finance teams—to inform fundraising strategy and manage shared deliverables/outcomes.
  • Complete gift processing, donor acknowledgement, and other administrative tasks related to portfolio, ensuring all data is updated in Raiser’s Edge CRM.

WHAT YOUR BACKGOUND SHOULD LOOK LIKE:

  • 3-5+ years of relevant professional experience. Experience in fundraising, project management, sales, or client relations highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to tackle multiple projects with competing deadlines. Project management experience is a plus.
  • Capacity to build strong relationships across professional levels and job functions, both internally and with external partners.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with and analyze project budgets and financial reports.
  • Proficiency in computer programs, Microsoft Office Suite required and Raiser’s Edge or other fundraising CRM experience highly preferred.
