About the Position

Dexis is seeking experienced and knowledgeable Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) with training experience for short-term assignments in support of State Department's security assistance objectives. The Training Specialist Consultant will provide expert guidance and leadership in designing, developing, and delivering training programs for host nation security forces and defense sector representatives. They will serve as a trusted advisor and thought leader, bringing deep expertise as needed in one or more subject areas. Example training topics could include:

  • Instructor Development Course (IDC) Training
  • First Aid and Combat Lifesaver (CLS) Training
  • Military Staff Operations and Development
  • Human Rights Training
  • Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) Training
  • Small Unit Leader (SUL) Training
  • Civil-Military Operations (CMO) Training

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with internal teams, external stakeholders, and USG representatives to identify training needs and objectives for specified projects and contracts.
  • Design and develop customized training programs and curricula tailored to meet client requirements and address specific challenges and objectives.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and lead instructor for training courses, providing engaging and interactive instruction to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Develop training materials, including lesson plans, presentations, handouts, and practical exercises, to support training delivery.
  • Conduct training needs assessments, evaluations, and analyses to measure training effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in relevant training areas, and incorporate findings into training programs and recommendations.
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and guidance to host nation instructors and trainers to build their capacity and enhance training delivery.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a subject matter expert or trainer in one or more of the specified training areas above.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant military manuals, regulations, and doctrine, including ADP, FM, and ATP publications.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire learners from diverse backgrounds.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Willingness to travel internationally and work in challenging environments as required.
