Investigative Journalism Training Specialist Consultant, USAID Timor-Leste AIM

Dexis Consulting Group is seeking a highly skilled Investigative Journalism Training Specialist Consultant to support the USAID/Timor-Leste Accountability and Integrity Mechanism (AIM) project. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in journalism training, particularly in research-based investigative journalism with anti-corruption and good governance perspectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with AIM staff, the AJTL, and other stakeholders to deliver a training for Timor-Leste journalists to build capacity for research-based investigative journalism.
- Prepare a rapid training needs analysis and a three-year training plan to sustain the effort to build capacity of national journalists.
- Provide studies, reports, and relevant materials to support the work of AJTL journalists.
Requirements:
- Relevant university education in journalism or a related field, or 10 years of professional experience plus a degree in a related technical area.
- Experience in journalism training for at least 5 years, preferably with a focus on research-based investigative journalism.
- Practical experience in engagement with government institutions or relevant work demonstrating knowledge and skills in the areas covered by this TOR.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Data visualization skills.
- Knowledge of monitoring, evaluation, and learning policies and procedures.
- Familiarity with anti-corruption work.
