What you will be supporting:
CDER Office of Translational Sciences (OTS) / Office of Administrative Operations (OAO) requires the services of full-time Administrative Support Specialist staff to support the office operations with day-to-day administrative tasks. The resource shall provide support to several line staff and complete a wide range of actions and must ensure timeliness, completeness, and accuracy. This includes performing correspondence management, timekeeping, and records management as well as low program administration.

The work shall be performed either at the Government site or virtually (at the Contractor site) during normal duty hours (8:30 a.m. to 5:00 pm Eastern Time (ET), Monday through Friday).
The work hours and place of performance are non-negotiable unless otherwise discussed and agreed. Most work is expected to take place at FDA’s CDER office located at Silver Spring, MD. Work may be required at some of our off-site offices as well. Travel outside the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area is not anticipated.

Fun stuff you will do on the job:
  • Be responsible for timekeeping, managing program schedules and calendars, scheduling meetings using FDA approved Microsoft (MS) Office tools and networks, maintaining personal and
  • CDER/OTS/OAO Administrative Support Staff Services administrative files, and reserving conference rooms. This includes notifying the Government program personnel of any conflicts that would hinder the meeting
    objectives, preparing, assembling and distributing meeting materials (e.g., agendas, project correspondence, minutes).
  • Provide meeting support by escorting visitors to the appropriate meeting locations, including preparing prepare travel orders and vouchers.
  • Answer telephone calls and directing inquires to the appropriate contacts, drafting and distributing emails, letters, and other written correspondence. Requests received vary in nature.
  • Facilitate the flow of work within the division, between the line employees and the supervisors in OTS.
  • Perform other office duties as assigned. These may include performing inventory, creating MS documents as requested, and performing research from a variety of sources such as regulations and
    other reference material.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by Task Order Manager and DRT Manager
This is you:
  • Work independently and collaboratively under an organizational structure that is multipart and is divided into subordinate groups that usually differ from each other such as by subject-matter and/or function.
  • Have strong interpersonal, communication, time-management and organizational skills
  • Have a minimum of 3 years of experience related administrative services
  • Have working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and SharePoint Online
