Who are you?
  • You are a human resources professional with a Bachelor's Degree and at least five to eight years of HR experience, at least five of which are in managing staff and developing talent. Professional HR certification preferred (SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, PHR, SPHR, etc). Strong knowledge of employment law, state and federal regulations and HR compliance with the ability to proactively align the organization's practices with new and developing requirements.
  • You are passionate about creating a positive and engaging work culture that fosters employee satisfaction and retention.
  • You are skilled in the broad spectrum of traditional HR functional areas including recruiting, employee relations, wage and hour/payroll, coaching, performance management, compensation, benefit administration, leave administration and compliance.
  • You are a leader who can communicate effectively, build relationships, and influence others.
  • You are a problem-solver who can handle complex and sensitive situations with tact and discretion.
  • You're game to roll up your sleeves to grill burgers on BBQ day and help coordinate SESLOC's annual Salsa contest.
What will you do?
  • You will help to oversee all aspects of human resources for our credit union, for 185 employees across six branches and our San Luis Obispo Headquarters location.
  • You will collaborate with your HR colleagues to develop and implement human resources strategies, policies, and procedures that align with our vision, mission, and values.
  • You will partner with management and other stakeholders to ensure that our human resources practices support our organizational goals and objectives and the ever-changing demands of the market.
  • You will create and manage programs and initiatives that enhance employee engagement, recognition, and development.
  • You will ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to human resources.
