Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSEnergy is seeking to add a Regulatory Compliance Engineer to our Business Consulting Team. 

The successful candidate will contribute to a multi-disciplinary team within the division support Clients in fulfilling their compliance obligations to regulatory agencies. 

This position will be based out of one of our office locations in San Antonio, Houston, or College Station.

Job Responsibilities
The principal duties and responsibilities of the Regulatory Compliance Consultant consists of, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Track new developments and emerging issues for electric utility regulatory agencies including, NERC, FERC, TRE, ERCOT, PUCT, EPA and other relevant electric utility regulatory agencies.
  • Review emerging issues with Client’s staff.  Jointly determine whether individual issues require further monitoring, or immediate action including filing comments as needed.
  • Prepare and submit applicable reports to TRE, NERC, ERCOT, and other agencies as needed.  Assist with preparation and submittal of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting and submittals to TRE, NERC and ERCOT. 
  • Lead and support the development of key compliance documents including compliance planning documents, standards-based policy and procedures and other compliance plans and documentation.
  • Review all mandatory NERC O&P and CIP standards.
  • Review all applicable ERCOT Requirements
  • Review all applicable PUC Requirements
  • Conduct compliance review meetings and provide feedback to Client’s compliance team as needed. 
  • Lead the development of Distributed Generation guidelines, policies and procedures for MOU and Cooperative Clients. 
Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program or related field
  • 5-10 years’ experience in transmission design or transmission planning and relevant experience with NERC, TRE, PUCT, and ERCOT regulatory requirements.
  • Possess strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills and able to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
Skills
  • Strong (effective) written and verbal communication skills, exceptional computer skills, with emphasis in engineering software, project management, Microsoft Word and Excel applications. Strong skills of time management, organizational and multi-tasking. AutoCAD experience preferred.
