One of the oldest and most well-respected chemistry creative businesses, Rochester Midland Corporation (RMC) is looking for an experienced Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Regulatory Compliance Specialist for its Ogden NY operations. This is a role that allows for remote work.

We are seeking a results-driven Product Regulatory Compliance Specialist to implement and develop regulatory compliance strategies. You will be reviewing documentation and procedures, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders on compliance-related issues, and performing compliance audits.

To ensure success as a regulatory compliance specialist, you should facilitate regulatory compliance to help our organization maintain an excellent reputation.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Communication with executives, managers, and employees to determine EHS and operational compliance-related priorities.
  • Reviewing, updating and creating documentation, processes, and practices for hazardous materials and product options.
  • Developing and enacting regulatory compliance strategies.
  • Coordinating regulatory compliance procedures across organizational structures.
  • Providing training in compliance practices and procedures.
  • Monitoring compliance and facilitating interventions to manage risks.
  • Performing compliance audits and compiling reports.
  • Documenting compliance-related processes and maintaining records.
  • Keeping abreast of regulatory changes and developments in the regulatory environment.

EDUCATION/ SPECIAL LICENSES OR CERTIFICATION:

  • B.S. or B.A. in a technical field
  • A qualification in regulatory and compliance assurance is advantageous.

EXPERIENCE:

  • More than five years' work experience.
  • At least three years’ experience as a regulatory compliance specialist, or similar.
  • Working knowledge of environmental health and safety regulations and laws
  • Experience with an ERP (enterprise resource planning) system is helpful (Great Plains (GP), Vicinity or WERCS experience is a plus).

SKILLS:

  • Highly knowledgeable in EHS regulatory laws, statutes, reporting requirements.
  • Outstanding communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work with leadership to interpret written material, including technical information, rules, regulations, executive orders, and laws.
  • Good administrative, analytical, organizational, planning, problem-solving and training skills are required. Multi-tasking and the ability to work well under stress is necessary.
  • Experience with Microsoft software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with data collection and presentation.
