Job Overview

Rochester Midland Corporation (RMC), a leading name in the chemistry sector, is seeking a skilled Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Regulatory Compliance Specialist for its operations. This position offers the flexibility of remote work.

We are looking for a proactive Product Regulatory Compliance Specialist to develop and implement effective compliance strategies. Your role will involve reviewing documentation and procedures, collaborating with both internal and external partners on compliance matters, and conducting compliance audits.

To excel in this position, you should ensure regulatory compliance to uphold our organization’s esteemed reputation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Engage with executives, managers, and staff to identify EHS and operational compliance priorities.
  • Review, update, and create documentation and processes related to hazardous materials and product options.
  • Formulate and execute regulatory compliance strategies.
  • Coordinate compliance procedures across various organizational levels.
  • Deliver training on compliance practices and procedures.
  • Monitor compliance and facilitate interventions to mitigate risks.
  • Conduct compliance audits and prepare reports.
  • Document compliance processes and maintain accurate records.
  • Stay informed about regulatory changes and developments in the compliance landscape.

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
  • Certification in regulatory and compliance assurance is a plus.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Over five years of relevant work experience.
  • A minimum of three years in a regulatory compliance role or similar position.
  • Strong understanding of environmental health and safety regulations and laws.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (Great Plains (GP), Vicinity, or WERCS experience is advantageous).

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • In-depth knowledge of EHS regulatory laws and reporting requirements.
  • Exceptional communication skills to engage with all organizational levels.
  • Adept at interpreting technical information, regulations, and laws.
  • Strong administrative, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and data presentation.

WORKING CONDITIONS

The physical demands for this role include the ability to sit or stand for extended periods, visual acuity for computer use, and the capacity to perform repetitive tasks with office equipment.
