The Center for Workforce Inclusion is recruiting for an Entomological Support Specialist Southwest Region 3 Forest Service Health Protection in Flagstaff, AZ within the NFS Agriculture Conservation Experienced Services (ACES) Program through a grant administered program which provides support to the U.S. Forest Service (NFS). Successful candidates must meet the age criteria of being 55 years of age or older and eligible to work in the United States. Selected candidates will also be required to undergo a federal security background check.

Role and Responsibilities: Field installation of various field plots and proper identification of bark beetles and associated insects in the Southwestern Region. Requires outdoor orientation and navigation while working in remote and forced it areas of New Mexico.

Duties include:

  • Field installation of various field plots and proper identification of bark beetles and associated insects in the Southwestern Region.
  • Maintain a hard copy log of field data and spreadsheets. Enter data into appropriate software. Perform statistical analyses and write up results.

Qualifications and Education Requirements: Successful candidates must meet the age criteria of being 55 years of age or older and eligible to work in the United States; able to pass a Federal Background check; MA/MS; minimum of 20 yrs relevant experience in related field; experience in field entomology and use of statistic software. skills in communication and interpersonal relations; Experience using Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel; SAS or R. Must be physically able to hike over rough terrain while carrying field equipment. POV and valid driver’s license.

Hours & Compensation: Part-Time position working 11 hours per week @ $80.00 hours per week.
