Location: Golden Gate National Recreation Area, Marin County, CA
Period Of Performance: Estimated November 2024 - November 2025. Three weeks of part-time work (16 hours per week) from October 2024 to November 2024 (start-up phase), and three week of part time work (16 hours per week) from November 2025 to December 2025 (wind-down phase).
Salary Range: $90,000 to $110,000 annually based on experience
Project Solutions Inc. is seeking an experienced Construction Management Representative for an exciting opportunity supporting the National Parks Service at Golden Gate National Recreation Area. We are always looking for hard working professionals to join our diverse workforce and gain experience on a large variety of projects.
Project/Position Overview:
Construct 1,600 feet of multi-use trail connecting Dana Bowers Vista Point Overlook to the San Francisco Bay Trail and Fort Baker. The project will convert an existing unpaved service road to a 15’-wide paved trail, with rest areas, retaining walls, railings, paved drainage ditches, culverts, bollards, signs, and other features necessary for the safety and enjoyment of visitors. Lead soils contamination from legacy maintenance practices on the Golden Gate Bridge will be mitigated within the disturbance limits of the project.
This role is contingent upon award.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide technical assistance and support to CO during construction.
- Arrange, attend and facilitate a variety of meetings, including weekly meetings at the project site.
- Document issues encountered and problems experienced with the construction contractor.
- Review contractor's baseline and progress schedules.
- Draft project related correspondence for NPS to review and issuance
- Inspect the work of the construction contractor for progress, workmanship, quality and conformance with contract documents, applicable building codes and safety standards.
- Deliver reports, reviews, evaluations, design work, etc. to CO.
- Review and process Construction Contractor's RFIs and assist in resolution, draft response, tracking, and follow up.
Required Education, Knowledge and Skills:
- Education and professional qualifications and certifications related to asphalt paving, earthwork, storm drainage, and other heavy civil construction.
- Relevant certifications with mix designs, inspections of, and testing of asphalt pavement.
- Construction practices including minimum three years' experience in highway/roadway construction inspections.
- Minimum of OSHA 30-hour construction safety training required.
- Knowledge of and experience with construction practices directly related to linear roadway pavement preservation projects. Pavement preservation techniques including but not limited to chip seal, mill and overlay, full depth reclamation, full depth reconstruction, road repair/rehabilitation, and drainage work.
- Knowledge in construction practices including applicable building codes, applicable safety regulations, cost breakdown estimating and negotiating, and technical writing.
- Knowledge of cost estimating with breakdown of labor, materials and equipment costs for proposed construction contract modifications.
- Ability to read and interpret plans, schedules, and other specifications.
- The ability to understand and document negotiations between the Government and the Construction Contractor for the technical scope requirements, prime and subcontractor labor, equipment, material, overhead and profit
- Written and verbal communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills
- Knowledge of software including Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and any other software for the project
- Maintain a valid driver's license.
- Qualified applicant must be able to pass a background check.
- Ability to walk or climb on a daily basis to observe contract performance.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of individuals.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced work environment
