Position Overview: The Construction Superintendent serves as the Company’s representative, entrusted with the authority and responsibility for the daily management of the project. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring site safety, adhering to budget constraints, scheduling, maintaining SWPPP compliance, and ensuring all activities meet the Company’s quality standards and client satisfaction.

Consistency: Adheres to established procedures and offers suggestions for enhancements.

Teamwork: Fosters positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, colleagues, supervisors, and management.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Establish project setup, including plans for site access, staging areas, and security measures.
  • Organize and set up the job site office, ensuring all permits and regulations are displayed, along with emergency contacts.
  • Maintain and update construction documents and field drawings, ensuring that all changes are recorded and presented as a complete set at project completion.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to develop and review the project schedule monthly, ensuring adherence to timelines.
  • Keep the Project Manager informed of any scheduling changes or issues that may impact timelines or costs.
  • Review project documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Oversee daily site activities with trade contractors to ensure a safe and organized workflow, including scheduling start dates and material deliveries.
  • Coordinate with local authorities regarding compliance and necessary inspections.
  • Lead weekly meetings with trade contractors to ensure project flow and adherence to schedules.
  • Maintaining the project schedule is the Superintendent's primary responsibility.
  • Prepare a three-week look-ahead schedule with trades and those not yet on site, submitting it to the Project Manager while accounting for potential delays.
  • Proactively coordinate all work items, confirming timely delivery of supplies and materials with the project team.
  • Order and schedule the delivery of materials and equipment necessary for trade contractors' work.
  • Ensure that all work is completed according to specifications and project documents.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety regulations, including scheduling waste disposal and ensuring daily cleanup by trade contractors.
  • Provide a written punch list to trade contractors in collaboration with the Project Manager or Project Engineer, ensuring all items are addressed.
  • Personally verify the completion of all punch list items and sign off in conjunction with each trade.
  • Secure all final inspections and certificates, forwarding originals to the main office.
  • Ensure the site is secured at the end of each day.
  • Maintain professional communication with trade contractors, clients, architects, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 7 years of construction experience in a lead superintendent role.

Technical Skills: Proficient in Outlook, email communication, and scheduling software such as Procore.

Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License within Texas.
