Position Overview: The Construction Superintendent serves as the representative of the company, entrusted with the authority and responsibility for the daily management of the project. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring site safety, adhering to budget constraints, scheduling, maintaining SWPPP compliance, and upholding the company's quality standards to meet client satisfaction.

Key Competencies:

Communication: Effectively conveys information both verbally and in writing.

Consistency: Adheres to established procedures and suggests improvements when necessary.

Teamwork: Fosters positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, colleagues, supervisors, and management.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Establish project setup, including plans for site access, staging areas, and security measures.
  • Organize and set up the job site office, ensuring all permits and regulations are posted along with emergency contacts.
  • Maintain and update construction documents and field drawings, ensuring all changes are documented for the final project records.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to develop and review the project schedule monthly, ensuring adherence to timelines.
  • Keep the Project Manager informed of any scheduling changes or issues that may impact the project.
  • Review project documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Manage daily site activities with trade contractors to ensure a safe and organized workflow.
  • Coordinate with local authorities to comply with regulations and inspections.
  • Lead weekly meetings with trade contractors to maintain project flow and schedule.
  • Ensure that the project schedule is consistently maintained.
  • Prepare a three-week look-ahead schedule with trades and communicate any potential delays to the Project Manager.
  • Order and coordinate the delivery of materials and equipment for trade contractors.
  • Ensure work is completed according to specifications and project documents.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety regulations.
  • Provide a written punch list to trade contractors and ensure completion.
  • Review and sign off on completed punch list items with each trade.
  • Secure all final inspections and certificates, forwarding originals to the main office.
  • Ensure site security at the end of each day.
  • Maintain professional communication with trade contractors, clients, architects, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 7 years of experience in construction as a lead superintendent.

Technical Skills: Proficient in Outlook, email communication, and scheduling software such as Procore.

Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license in Texas.
