Position Summary:
The Regional HR Business Partner, under the direction of the VP of Human Resources, is responsible for HR activities for Virginia East and South Carolina. Areas of responsibility include recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, training initiatives, policy and procedure implementation, affirmative action and employment law compliance. This position will also serve as our Culture and Engagement Champion.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in HR or related area of study plus at least 3 years of HR work experience.
- SHRM or HRCI certification preferred
- HR experience in wholesale distribution or manufacturing is a plus.
- Strong understanding of general labor law and employment compliance regulations.
- Highly organized ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Strong attention to detail with analytical abilities.
- Effective communication skills (oral and written).
- The ability to maintain self-control. Needs to stay composed in difficult situations.
- Position requires integrity, must be honest and ethical.
- Must be a team player, pleasant with others on the job and display a good-natured, cooperative attitude.
- Reliable, responsible, dependable, and able to follow through and fulfill obligations.
- Ability to keep information confidential and meet standards of HR professionalism.
- Ability to travel within the region assigned (Virginia East-Richmond & Norfolk and occasionally to SC).
- Located in Richmond or Norfolk, VA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Position Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day HR responsibilities for the EEOC locations assigned.
- Recruitment initiatives and strategies; campus recruitment activities.
- Conduct recruiting and on-boarding activities for non-management positions within the assigned region.
- Serve as Culture and Engagement Champion for the organization.
- Coordinate, track and complete reporting of training and development assignments.
- Updates HRIS as needed, and coordinate change activities with the payroll department.
- Responsible for OSHA recordkeeping and W/C administration.
- Coordinate family medical leave requests.
- Recognize and provide support to management in HR related issues.
- Exemplify the EECO culture. Plan and promote activities that create a positive work environment.
