What you'll do:

The Payroll and Benefit Specialist will be a key contributor within our growing HR team. Your proven background will make you NinjaTrader's subject matter expert with all payroll, benefit and HRIS Administration. You will utilize your skills to develop, implement and monitor payroll and benefit processes for the organization to ensure efficiency and accuracy as we scale.

You can expect to:

  • Consistently & accurately process semi-monthly payroll for 250+ employees
  • Balance payroll, completing all payroll GL entries for Accounting
  • Research, analyze, and resolve all payroll issues and discrepancies, reporting issues to management
  • Ensure accurate taxation, garnishments, child support, etc.
  • Produce reports and prepare spreadsheets for management
  • Assist with Audits, gathering information and preparing any requested reports
  • Maintain electronic employee personnel files, records and other documentation for employees, including processing new employees, forms for employment status changes and maintaining timely and accurate files
  • Assist in the administration of all employee benefit enrollments, changes and terminations
  • Plan, conduct and report results of audits to ensure all enrollments are accurate and that dependent information is correct for each employee and work closely with Accounting for quarterly and year end audits (payroll, Workers Comp, 401k, etc.)
  • Administer COBRA enrollments/changes
  • Respond to and manage unemployment claims and workers compensation claims
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state and local regulations concerning payroll and benefit topics

What we look for:

  • A deep understanding of local, state and federal guidelines related to payroll and benefits
  • Excellent working knowledge of applicable employment law, and payroll law, FMLA and COBRA administration, and NLRB rules and guidelines
  • Good working knowledge of ERISA and benefits administration requirements
  • Working knowledge of payroll processing software, specifically ADP
  • Demonstrated respect for confidentiality and discretion when working frequently with sensitive issues
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects, and the flexibility to accommodate changing priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work with all levels of management
