Founded in 1866, The Floating Hospital (TFH), is one of the last remaining charity hospitals in New York City. Our commitment is the same as it was more than 150 years ago: unrestricted healthcare to all who walk through our doors, regardless of immigration and insurance status, or the ability to pay. The Floating Hospital welcomes individuals of all ages, from infants, school age children (5+), youth and adults. TFH is a Federally Qualified Health Center and the largest provider to homeless families living in family shelters and domestic violence safe houses throughout all five boroughs.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Greet patients presenting to Floating Hospital Clinic.
  • Interface with patients to complete the required registration paperwork.
  • Enter all patient demographic/registration information into our EMR system.
  • Enter visit information including ICD-9 and CPT codes into our EMR system.
  • Scan all related patient documents into our EMR system.
  • Adhere to all HIPAA compliance, privacy, and confidentiality guidelines.
  • Responsible for completing monthly Staff Productivity Logs.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or higher education; experience in the medical profession and a familiarity with medical terminology and coding. Must be computer literate and proficient at paying attention to detail.
  • EMR experience required (AthenaHealth preferred).
  • Please note there are two openings, one Program Assistant will be for the 8am-4pm shift and the other for the 4pm-12am shift.
