Sous Chef - Volunteer Coordinator $48,000 to $50,000 (Fully Paid Insurance)

We are currently seeking a talented, energetic and outgoing Sous Chef that will also work as a volunteer coordinator. This is a very unique position and requires both high physical and mental energy levels. 

As the Sous Chef you will assist the Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef in preparing meals from scratch for in house dining, To-Go meals, catering and a myriad of other unique circumstances. As the Volunteer Coordinator you will work with the General Manager to increase volunteer numbers through database management, outreach and community interaction.

This opportunity DOES NOT come along everyday and offers an ever changing environment and work load. As The Sous Chef you will be involved in developing menu's unique to our food on-hand, and that changes daily This is a great opportunity for someone that is energetic, driven and interested in being part of a solution to a major problem in our city.

NourishKC serves the unhoused and food insecure in a restaurant style dining experience. At NourishKC we also provide food to more than 30 pantries around the city to help support their neighborhoods. We have a small but very talented group of people on staff and we rely heavily on community involvement ands volunteerism. Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of Salaried Sous Chef experience in a fully scratch kitchen
  • High energy
  • Sharp mental awareness
  • Ability to make decisions on the fly
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Some experience with community organizing or volunteer coordinating is a PLUS
  • Ability to lift and move 50 pounds on a regular basis
