Position Title: Catering Sales Manager
Reports To: Director of Sales and Events
Location: Woodmont Country Club, Rockville, MD
Position Summary:
The Catering Sales Manager will be responsible for driving catering sales through proactive client engagement, developing customized event proposals, and overseeing the planning and execution of exceptional member and private events. This position will ensure that Woodmont Country Club remains a premier choice for high-quality, seamless catering experiences. The ideal candidate will combine strong sales acumen with superior customer service and event coordination skills, collaborating closely with the Director of Sales and Events, culinary teams, and event staff to deliver top-tier member and guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales & Business Development:
- Proactively seek out new business opportunities and develop a robust client base for member, private, corporate, and social events.
- Build strong relationships with prospective and current clients, providing comprehensive consultations to understand their needs.
- Develop and deliver compelling sales proposals, pricing structures, and contracts tailored to each event’s requirements.
- Collaborate with the Director of Sales and Events to create sales strategies and meet or exceed annual revenue goals.
- Conduct on-site tours, showcasing Woodmont’s unique facilities and offerings.
- Event Planning & Coordination:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all client communication related to event details, ensuring smooth coordination from the initial inquiry through to post-event follow-up.
- Work with the culinary team to design menus that align with client preferences and budget while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Coordinate with internal departments (banquets, AV, housekeeping) to ensure the flawless execution of events, including setup, timelines, and staffing.
- Manage event timelines, including deposits, contracts, and billing, ensuring all details are in order for successful event delivery.
- Client Relationship Management:
- Provide exceptional customer service to maintain long-term relationships with clients, encouraging repeat business and referrals.
- Solicit client feedback post-event and address any issues to continually improve service standards and processes.
- Attend events as needed to ensure client satisfaction and troubleshoot any last-minute issues.
- Marketing & Promotion:
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute promotional strategies for catering services.
- Participate in networking events and trade shows to promote Woodmont’s catering and event services.
- Maintain an updated portfolio of Woodmont’s event capabilities to share with prospective clients.
- Track and report sales performance to the Director of Sales and Events, providing insights on trends and growth opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in catering sales, event planning, or hospitality management.
- Demonstrated success in driving sales and managing high-end catering events.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in event management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused and results-driven mindset.
- Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
