Job DescriptionJob Description

This position is responsible for managing all aspects of purchasing including policies, procedures, and best practices. Includes negotiating and purchasing cost effectively to help support ongoing organizational operations. Also responsible for supervision and continual upkeep of facilities maintenance needs.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Handle inventory item master in SAP including oversight of proper cost and pricing
  • Monitor ongoing compliance with existing purchasing policies and procedures
  • Identify and source new vendors. Work to establish and solidify strong relationships with existing vendors.
  • Establish and update and approved vendor/preferred supplier database
  • Negotiate and administer purchasing agreements and contracts with suppliers
  • Run MRP for parts and supplies (non-stocked) needed for all branch locations
  • Issue all purchase orders with vendors via email or website
  • Ensure timely placement of all daily purchase orders
  • Direct continuous improvement of purchasing processes in line with organizational needs.
  • Confirm costs and availability of equipment on SSD and AVSD orders.
  • Provide timely communication on issues that could result in manufacturing or install delay
  • Creation of item numbers requested on ITRS and update item master on items imported from D-tools into SAP.
  • Perform other duties as requested by Senior Purchasing and Fleet Coordinator as needed.

 

Education - Minimum of high school diploma. Degree in supply chain management, logistics or business administration a plus.

Experience - Two or more years’ experience as a purchasing agent or manager, preferably supply management and vendor relationship management. Familiarity with sourcing and managing vendors

Technical Skills - Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, & Outlook

Other Competencies/Skills - Excellent Oral & Written Communication Skills, A knack for Negotiation and Relationship building, Keen Attention to Detail, Ability to gather and analyze data and Leadership capabilities

Physical Requirements - Must be able to work in an open-office setting, with the majority of time being spent in a sitting position at a desk in front of a computer.
