GIS is seeking a highly skilled VP of Procurement and Supply Chain to join our team.  The Vice President of Procurement and Supply Chain is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the company’s procurement activities, developing and implementing procurement strategies, leading a team of specialist and establishing robust purchasing protocols.  This role is crucial for a company that currently has few policies and procedures in place and is transitioning to a new ERP (D365) system.  The VP of Procurement and Supply Chain will be instrumental in building a structured procurement function, ensuring effective vendor management, cost efficiency, and compliance with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:​​​​​​​

Strategic Procurement Leadership: - Develop and implement a comprehensive procurement strategy aligned with the company’s business objectives. - Lead the procurement function to ensure the acquisition of goods and services at the best possible cost and quality.

Policy and Procedure Development: - Establish and formalize procurement policies, procedures, and standards to ensure consistency and compliance across the organization. - Work closely with legal and compliance teams to ensure all procurement activities adhere to relevant regulations and company policies.

ERP System Implementation: - Collaborate with Digital Solutions and other relevant departments to support the successful implementation of the new ERP system (D365). Develop and integrate purchasing protocols within the ERP system to streamline procurement processes and improve efficiency.

Vendor Management: - Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors. Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions to ensure favorable terms and cost savings for the company.

Cost Management and Savings: - Identify opportunities for cost reduction and implement strategies to achieve significant savings in procurement activities. - Monitor and report on procurement performance metrics to senior leadership, highlighting areas of improvement and cost-saving achievements.

Team Leadership and Development: - Build and lead a high-performing procurement team, providing mentorship and development opportunities for team members. - Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment that promotes continuous improvement and professional growth.

 

Qualifications:

  • This position may be based out of our Houston, TX, Galliano, LA, or New Orleans, LA offices.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in a senior procurement role with a track record of developing and implementing procurement strategies.
  • Strong understanding of procurement principles, practices, and methodologies.
  • Experience with ERP system implementation and integration of procurement processes that are underpinned by the development of a category/itemize procurement hierarchy.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in building and managing high-performing teams.
