Basic Function

The Assistant Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for maintaining an efficient and organized warehouse and on time deliveries with the Warehouse Manager. This role involves supporting the Warehouse Manager in ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, overseeing warehouse operations, and assisting with the management of team activities.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Warehouse Supervision: Assist in supervising the warehouse team to ensure effective sorting, loading, routing, shipping, receiving, and inventory management.
  • Customer Deliveries: Handle deliveries to local customers as needed for the first half of the day.
  • Operational Support: Support the Warehouse Manager in maintaining safe, efficient, and cost-effective warehouse operations.
  • Shipping Oversight: Oversee and participate in the shipping process to ensure accuracy, completeness, and the proper condition of all shipments, including handling physical materials.
  • Record Review: Check records for accuracy and adherence to established procedures.
  • Problem Resolution: Address and resolve shipping discrepancies in collaboration with relevant team members.
  • Supply Management: Order and manage warehouse supply as needed.
  • Team Development: Assist in the selection, training, and motivation of team members.
  • Administrative Duties: Perform daily closing procedures, including reconciling paperwork, financials, maintaining clean facilities, and inventory.
  • Backup: Provide support to the Warehouse Manager in their absence.
  • Additional Tasks: Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills

  • Experience: 1-3 years of experience in a management or supervisory role, preferably within the auto parts industry.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Technical Skills: Basic proficiency in MS Excel and Outlook.
  • Personality: Outgoing, personable, with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the company.
  • Multitasking: Capable of handling multiple tasks and working efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Driving Record: Good driving record.
  • Professionalism: Maintains a professional appearance.
