Position Overview:
The Transportation Routing Supervisor will join a dynamic and rapidly expanding publicly traded company, based in the New England Region. This role presents an excellent opportunity for professional growth within the organization. Reporting to the Transportation Manager, the supervisor will oversee all facets of the regional transportation network, focusing on routing, delivery efficiency, territory planning, and resource allocation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily routing operations, adjusting for volume while considering customer requirements, route efficiencies, and cost-effectiveness.
- Conduct ongoing analysis of routes, vehicle assignments, and driver schedules to identify opportunities for consolidation and improvement.
- Assist in planning and executing vehicle scheduling, resource allocation, routing, and dispatching to optimize the use of company assets.
- Develop routing logic and ensure customer service levels meet or exceed company standards.
- Collaborate with warehouse operations to implement best practices in truck loading using the Truck Builder software.
- Integrate vendor pickups into routing sessions and allocate resources for both scheduled and unscheduled deliveries.
- Work closely with the Fleet Team to align available vehicles with delivery and customer requirements.
- Coordinate with the Dispatch team for coverage during off days and vacations.
- Review current routing procedures, provide technical guidance, analyze costs, and recommend cost control measures.
- Communicate load requirements, route sequencing, and schedules with the Night Warehouse Management Team to enhance order selection processes.
- Maintain daily operations and incorporate real-time feedback from drivers and sales teams to improve routing performance using the Road Net system.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED required; a college degree is preferred.
- 2-4 years of experience in transportation routing is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of the Road Net Transportation Suite is advantageous.
- Understanding of transportation safety guidelines and DOT procedures related to routing is preferred.
- Strong communication and team-building skills are essential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.
- Able to drive positive change within the organization.
