Summary

This position coordinates, supports and helps execute strategic marketing plans, initiatives and general activities to increase strategic sales and support internal culture building activities.

Support the Achievement of Strategic Goals

  • Work in conjunction with the Brand Marketing Manager and Marketing Specialist to develop and implement strategic, data-driven marketing plans to achieve sales and category team objectives.
  • Assist with the planning and execution for internal and external company events, including but not limited to: food shows, food shows, sales meetings, sales incentive trips, category promotions, golf outings, regional customer events, internal employee events and more.
  • Assist the Marketing Specialist with the design and execution of the company’s social media strategy. Tasks include, but are not limited to: content creation, competitive research, performance tracking, assisting with content shoots, graphics creation and more.
  • Conceptualize and implement graphic design projects (digital & print), in support of Category and Sales strategies. These include, but are not limited to: flyers, point of sale materials, brochures, catalogs and more. This position will be responsible for designing weekly Market Minute commodity reports and bi-weekly sales flyers.
  • Complete all promotional items and apparel requests for Sales Reps and work with the Marketing Specialist to manage inventory.
  • Ensure the Sales Toolbox (digital asset site) is up-to-date with the latest materials and update as needed. Work in conjunction with the Marketing Specialist, vendors and brokers to update point of sale material as needed.
  • Complete administrative tasks as required. These include, but are not limited to: invoicing, reporting, proofreading, editing, copyrighting and more.

Qualifications:

  • Willingness to work in the Van Eerden office during business hours, with occasional off-site work as needed
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business Administration, or equivalent work/industry/internship experience required
  • 1-2 years of experience in marketing or comparable work experience required
  • Intermediate proficiency in all Microsoft Office tools required
  • Intermediate proficiency in all major social media platforms required: Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn
  • Intermediate proficiency in all Adobe design software required: InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop. Graphic design certification/s a plus.
  • WordPress website development experience a plus.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask, with a focus on project management
  • A motivated self-starter who works well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Must be very detail and process oriented
  • Ability to identify issues and roadblocks in cross-functional areas and present proposed solution
  • Ability to resolve conflict and quickly adapt to different communication styles

  • Occasional travel required including minimal overnight stays for regional customer events.
