Position Overview: The responsibility for this role is very wide ranged, thus requires thorough knowledge of various manufacturing processes. As a quality control technician, your role will focus primarily on testing and assessing materials before, after, and during the production process to ensure its efficiency. This position is also required to design quality manufacturing policies, procedures and regulations to maintain the upmost quality product production our customers deserve. Furthermore, this position must produce necessary reports and documentation, coordinate with managers / supervisors, maintain accurate documentation and oversee all quality standard outcomes.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Establish, maintain and optimize an effective quality management system.
  • Enhance and improve the manufacturing process.
  • Create prevention methods and continual improvement techniques.
  • Communicate customer requirements to assure product quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Create effective documentation and implementation of the newly established quality management system to assure compliance with customer requirements and the standards set by Plastilite.
  • Work with leadership to ensure that individuals performing functions affecting quality are trained and demonstrate the appropriate skills and performance results.
  • Coordinate regular internal quality system audits.
  • Maintain a corrective action system to analyze and correct nonconforming conditions and complaints.
  • Implement the performance measurements necessary to effectively evaluate organizational performance and trends in product quality, services, customer satisfaction and cost of poor quality. Use results of performance evaluation to target improvement efforts.
  • Assess current and potential supplier capabilities.
  • Maintain an open and candid working relationship with leadership team in discussing matters of importance.
  • Adhere to established company values, practices, policies and procedures at all times.
  • Follow and support compliance with all applicable safety rules, laws and regulations and standards.
  • Any other responsibilities or duties assigned by management.

  • Solid knowledge of manufacturing and quality practices.
  • Ability to occasionally work daily overtime and weekends when demands are high.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, sometimes high stress environment for required hours.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or related discipline is preferred but not required.
  • 3-5 years of quality, engineering or related experience.
  • Experience with quality improvement tools and techniques.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to operate in a high heat environment.
  • Prolonged periods standing, sitting and walking.
  • Must be able to lift, push or pull to 50 pounds at a time.
