  • Competitive compensation: Starting at $22.55 per hour, increasing to $25.05 per hour after six months. A shift differential of $1.25 per hour applies for hours worked between 6:00 PM and 6:00 AM.

Position Summary

This role is for the second shift, with hours from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM. Flexibility for weekend and overtime work may be required based on production demands.

Under general supervision, the QA Technician conducts essential tests and quality control assessments of raw materials, in-process batches, and finished products. Responsibilities include accurately documenting, communicating, and archiving results, as well as performing routine inspections on the production line.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct quality control evaluations on production samples, performing both chemical and microbiological analyses to ensure compliance with established specifications.
  • Carry out regular inspections, audits, and equipment assessments on the production floor.
  • Utilize strong observational skills and effective communication to identify, address, and prevent production discrepancies.
  • Authorize the release of products and materials.
  • Maintain detailed logs and records for various production and raw material tests.
  • Store samples of production and raw materials appropriately.
  • In collaboration with supervision, troubleshoot laboratory and production floor issues as needed.
  • Ensure laboratory equipment is well-maintained and work areas are kept clean.
  • Adhere to all established Safety Policies, Good Laboratory Practices, Good Manufacturing Practices, and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Report and take necessary actions to mitigate food safety and quality issues.
  • Communicate effectively and promptly within the quality department and across other departments in the facility.
  • Perform sanitation inspections to uphold a clean and safe food production environment.

Qualifications

  • Education: A minimum of a 4-year degree in a science-related field or at least one year of relevant experience in a quality assurance or laboratory environment.
  • Familiarity with SAP software is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to operate various laboratory equipment.
  • Experience conducting inspections on the production floor.
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.

Regular and punctual attendance during scheduled working hours is required for this position.
