Are you an experienced Accounting Specialist with a background in the construction industry? Ready to take the next step in your career within a welcoming, casual work environment? If so, we have an exciting opportunity with a veteran-owned and operated paving company that has proudly served the Orange County community for nearly 15 years. They are seeking a Construction Accounting Specialist who brings construction accounting expertise to the table. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with the CEO and Controller to ensure accurate and timely accounting, and financial reporting, as well as human resources responsibilities including payroll and hiring.

The Construction Accounting Specialist will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Collaborating with Project Managers to process and submit monthly progress billings using Sage 100.
  • Managing deadlines for billing and related documents.
  • Working with Contract Administration to ensure that approved Change Orders are processed and available for billing.
  • Entering and filing intercompany A/R and A/P invoices timely and efficiently.
  • Addressing discrepancies in purchase orders in coordination with the Purchasing Agent and update POs as needed.
  • Reconciling vendor statements and resolve discrepancies directly with vendors.
  • Depositing and applying A/R cash receipts and assist in collections.
  • Handling vendor and Angelus lien waivers/releases.
  • Onboarding new employees, to include making sure they are requested to participate in all companies benefits (Medical, Dental, Vison, 401K, etc.).
  • Processing payroll using Sage 100 and BBSI payroll system.
  • Processing employee expense reimbursements.
  • Preparing credit application drafts for new vendors and entering new vendor information, ensuring W9 forms are obtained.
  • Maintaining various Customer and Supplier Portals.
  • Performing other general administrative and bookkeeping duties as assigned by management.

 

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years of experience performing Construction Accounting.
  • 2 years of experience performing Accounts Receivable & Payable.
  • 1 year of experience performing Progress Billings
  • Hands on experience utilizing Sage 100 Software.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
