AHEAD Human Resources, a provider of first-in-class comprehensive human resource solutions for small and midsize businesses, is seeking a Payroll Administrator/HR Coordinator to provide payroll and HR services to our internal and external clients. The responsibilities of this position primarily involve processing payroll. However, secondary duties will include HR related functions. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a payroll background to gain HR knowledge and experience. It is anticipated that the HR responsibilities will gradually increase.

These are some of the things we need your help with:

· Enters, researches, and analyzes employee payroll and tax related data including garnishment, absence management or new hire necessary to process and meet weekly and bi-weekly payroll processing. Assists with the calculation and preparation of corporate payroll tax filings to ensure the timely remittance of Federal, State and Local taxes.

  • Onboards new clients, with various client company structures and in multiple states/localities, to payroll and provides related services to ensure accurate and timely implementation.
  • Provides customer focused interaction ensuring timely response and effective follow-up on client and/or internal requests and/or issues.
  • Analyzes payroll data supplied by clients for accuracy and completeness, inputs and balances payroll data accurately, processes payroll, and reviews/analyzes payroll reports for accuracy and timely distribution to clients.
  • Various support duties related to HR and employee benefit services.

This is the background we think you need to be successful:

  • A minimum of one year of experience in payroll administration is required. Experience with multi-client payroll is preferred. Supervisory experience would be a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs and demonstrated ability to learn other applications as needed.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at any one time, with demonstrable prioritization skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, decision making, and interpersonal skills.
  • Personal characteristics will include: team-orientated person also able to work on individual initiative, a “can do attitude”, high integrity and ethics, comfortable at all levels of the organization, possesses tact, diplomacy and judgement.
