SPARK Program Manager

Job Summary:

Manages the daily implementation of outcome driven SPARK Early Literacy Program; year-round. Trains and supervises tutors. Collaborates with SPARK Family Engagement Coordinator to build a strong team and enhance the family-school-student relationship.


Responsibilities:

  • Training and supervising tutors:
  • Train, supervise and mentor tutors
  • Coordinate, plan and structure tutoring schedule
  • Observe tutoring lessons, review lesson plans and evaluate student binders
  • Monitor tutor training requirements and ensure tutors meet training goals.
  • Track tutor attendance and meet/discuss regularly.
  • Evaluate tutors on a regular basis and set goals.


Collaborating with Family Engagement Coordinators (FEC)

  • Build a strong working relationship with their FEC
  • Attend monthly Partner Teacher Collaboration (PTC) meetings with
  • teachers and FECs
  • Conduct regular meetings with FECs
  • Attend bi-monthly SPARK Family Events
  • Help coordinate the SPARK Home Library program, including ordering
  • and distributing books to students.
  • Other ongoing responsibilities:
  • Organize and direct the daily implementation of program delivery.
  • Encourages emotional, social, and educational growth of individual
  • students.
  • Model best practice literacy instruction.
  • Create a print rich literacy environment that is conducive to early reading
  • instruction.
  • Builds collaborative relationships with school and Club staff.
  • Attends all mandatory trainings.
  • Participates in BGCGM, CLC and/or school events.
  • Tracks data, prepares reports and meets all deadlines.
  • Ensure proper documentation of all issues and incidents per BGCGM
  • guidelines.


Skills:

  • Strong communication skills across various mediums (email, phone, virtual
  • meetings, etc.).
  • Effective and positive interactions with youth and families, both individually and in
  • groups.
  • Ability to relate well with diverse populations.
  • Organization with keen attention to detail.
  • Strong collaboration skills.
  • Proficient in learning and utilizing new technologies for job tasks.
  • Creative approach to engaging students.
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to supervise staff and manage students
  • Advanced computer literacy skills and ability to utilize technology platforms


Education Requirements:

  • Current Teaching License/Certification required.


Experience Requirements:

  • Preferred classroom literacy teaching experience.
  • Preferred experience working with youth ages 5-10.
  • Preferred management experience
