Celebrating over 40 years of success, ECE is one of the most well-known and respected names in comparative international education. Our main product, an educational credential evaluation, is a report used by counselors, recruiters, registrars, and admissions officers in the U.S. and elsewhere to determine how the academic history of a foreign-educated individual matches up to American grading scales and standards. As the demand for talented professionals has increased around the world, hiring managers have increasingly relied on the expertise of ECE to review the credentials of employees. ECE is a medium-sized nonprofit organization with just over 100 employees.


Summary

Supports local area computer network activities. Installs, modifies, and makes minor repairs to personal computer hardware and software systems, and provides technical assistance and training to system users.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Install or replace hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, and printers at the user's workstation.


Set up and configure new computers.


Act as a help desk for hardware or software issues. Resolves the issue or contacts the appropriate vendor to resolve.


Identify and train staff on new and updated IT equipment and software including scanning, power point, setting up laptop for presentations, projector equipment, etc.


Serve as a backup for basic system administration when the network administrator is unavailable.


Test new and upgraded IT systems.


Provide maintenance and support by performing troubleshooting tasks, making bug fixes, and writing and revising technical documentation.


Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.


Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.


Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or one to three months related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Some college level education is preferred.


IT Experience

One to two years of PC Hardware/Software troubleshooting experience desired.


Familiarity with the following software is beneficial but not required: Accounting software; Database software; Human Resource systems; Internet software; Payroll systems; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.


Foreign Language Skills

No foreign language skills are required for this position, however, experience supporting an organization with a global scope is ideal. ECE serves individuals, institutions, and other key stakeholders from all over the world.


Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.


Supervisory Responsibilities

This job has no supervisory responsibilities and reports to the Senior Director of Technology.


Work Location

This is a remote position for Wisconsin-based individuals. Some tasks may require the individual to work in the office 1-2 days a week, depending on business needs. ECE's office is located in Schlitz Park near downtown Milwaukee.
