The Accounting Specialist will be responsible for the accountabilities listed below.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with accounts receivable and accounts payable using accounting software and other programs.

  • Handle accounts receivable and accounts payable for separate entities and vendors.

  • Establish and maintain relationships with new and existing customers and vendors.

  • Analyze and follow workflow processes.

  • Complete customer invoicing on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.

  • Process incoming payments by check and EFT including preparing bank deposits.

  • Ensure bills are paid in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to departmental procedures.

  • Process weekly vendor payments according to payment terms.

  • Compare purchase orders, prices, terms of payment and other charges.

  • Process transactions and perform accounting duties such as account maintenance, record entries and reconcile accounts.

  • Generate and review monthly reports.

  • Ensure compliance with internal accounting procedures.

  • Maintain accurate records, including ledgers, journals, receipts, and invoices.

  • Continuous evaluation of current policies and recommendations for process improvements.

  • Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.

  • Perform administrative and other tasks as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, OR; Associate’s degree in Accounting or Finance OR; 2-3 years of experience in accounts payable and/or accounts receivable

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

  • Knowledge of GAAP and basic accounting principles

  • Strong attention to detail with a dedication to accuracy

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills

  • Willingness to establish and maintain effective working relationships
