Role Overview:
SWCORP is seeking a highly experienced Category Manager to lead and manage our product categories within major retail channels, including Home Depot, Lowe's, Amazon, and Walmart. The ideal candidate will have a robust track record in category management, with expertise in Shopify, Seller Central, and a deep understanding of big-box retail processes. This role is essential in driving sales, optimizing product visibility, and ensuring alignment with market trends and customer needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Category Strategy: Develop and implement effective category strategies to maximize sales and profitability across Home Depot, Lowe's, Amazon, and Walmart. Utilize market trends, customer insights, and competitive analysis to guide strategic decisions.
  • Retail Relationship Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key buyers and stakeholders at Home Depot, Lowe's, Amazon, and Walmart. Serve as the primary liaison for these retailers.
  • Product Management: Oversee product assortment, pricing, and promotional strategies to align with category goals and market demands. Ensure optimal product placement and visibility within retail environments.
  • Sales Analysis: Monitor and analyze sales performance, inventory levels, and profitability. Use data-driven insights to refine strategies and improve category performance.
  • Marketing and Promotion: Collaborate with the marketing team to create and execute targeted promotional activities and campaigns for each retail channel. Ensure alignment of marketing materials and messaging with retailer requirements.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including product development, supply chain, and customer service, to ensure successful product launches and resolve any issues affecting retail performance.
  • E-Commerce Management: Utilize Shopify and Seller Central platforms to manage and optimize online sales channels. Oversee product listings, monitor performance, and drive e-commerce growth.
  • Competitive Analysis: Conduct comprehensive competitive analysis to identify market opportunities and threats. Adjust strategies as needed to maintain a competitive edge and meet retailer expectations.
  • Sourcing: Experience in sourcing new products from China, with a focus on both soft and durable goods, preferably within the home improvement sector.
  • Pricing Strategies: Develop and implement pricing strategies to optimize product margins and profitability. Apply strong analytical skills to assess pricing and market dynamics.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present detailed reports on category performance, market trends, and sales forecasts to senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Category Manager or in a similar role, with significant experience managing categories for major retailers such as Home Depot, Lowe's, Amazon, and Walmart.
  • Knowledge: Solid understanding of category management, marketing, and sales principles. Knowledge of Amazon and other big-box e-commerce retailer business processes and tools, with a preference for Home Improvement Big Box experience.
  • Sourcing Experience: Proven experience in sourcing new products from China. Familiarity with both soft and durable goods, preferably in the home improvement sector.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills in pricing strategies and margin optimization. Proficiency in data analysis and forecasting methods.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Familiarity with category management software and e-commerce platforms such as Shopify and Seller Central.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with various stakeholders.
  • Multi-Tasking: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. An MBA or relevant advanced degree is a plus.
