Job Summary: The Category Specialist will be responsible for managing specific product categories within SWCORP, driving sales growth, and ensuring the overall health and performance of the category. This role involves market analysis, product development, pricing strategy, and collaboration with various teams to ensure the success of the assigned categories. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in product management, market analysis, and strategic planning, with experience managing online retail channels such as Amazon, Walmart, and Home Depot. Additionally, the candidate will focus on enhancing our product listings to A+ content and staying updated with the latest market trends.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Category Strategy Development:

    • Assist in developing and executing comprehensive category strategies to drive growth and profitability.
    • Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive landscape.
  2. Product Management:

    • Support the product lifecycle from ideation to launch, including product development, pricing, and discontinuation.
    • Collaborate with the product development team to ensure new products meet market needs and quality standards.
  3. Sales and Marketing:

    • Work with the sales and marketing teams to develop and implement promotional strategies and campaigns.
    • Monitor sales performance and adjust strategies as needed to achieve category goals.
  4. Vendor and Supplier Management:

    • Assist in establishing and maintaining relationships with key vendors and suppliers.
    • Support negotiations of contracts and terms to ensure favorable pricing and quality.
  5. Inventory Management:

    • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the supply chain team to ensure optimal stock levels.
    • Implement strategies to reduce excess inventory and minimize stockouts.
  6. Performance Analysis:

    • Analyze category performance metrics, including sales, margins, and market share.
    • Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management.
  7. Customer Insights:

    • Gather and analyze customer feedback to inform product and category decisions.
    • Work with the customer service team to address category-specific issues and improve customer satisfaction.
  8. Channel Management:

    • Manage and optimize product listings and performance on online retail channels such as Amazon, Walmart, and Home Depot.
    • Enhance product listings to A+ content to improve visibility and conversion rates.
    • Ensure product information, pricing, and promotions are aligned across all channels.
    • Monitor and report on channel-specific performance metrics, including sales, traffic, and customer reviews.
  9. Trend Monitoring and Adaptation:

    • Stay updated with the latest market trends and competitor activities.
    • Implement strategies to leverage emerging trends and maintain a competitive edge in the market.
  10. Collaboration and Communication:

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, supply chain, and finance.
    • Communicate category strategies and performance to internal stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in category management, product management, or a related role.
  • Experience managing product listings and performance on online retail channels such as Amazon, Walmart, and Home Depot.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the bath products industry or a related field.
  • Proficient in using category management and analytics tools.
  • Knowledge of supply chain and inventory management principles.
  • Experience with enhancing product listings to A+ content.
