We are seeking a motivated and experienced Licensed Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching substance abuse classes, providing individual and group counseling, and developing treatment plans that support the recovery process. This role requires a compassionate and knowledgeable professional who is dedicated to helping clients achieve and maintain sobriety.

Key Responsibilities

- **Teach Substance Abuse Classes:** Develop and deliver educational programs and classes on substance abuse prevention, treatment, and recovery.
- **Individual and Group Counseling:** Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address substance abuse issues, facilitate discussions, and provide emotional support.
- **Treatment Planning:** Collaborate with clients to create personalized treatment plans that outline goals, strategies, and timelines for recovery.
- **Assessment and Evaluation:** Perform assessments to evaluate clients' substance abuse history, mental health status, and treatment needs.
- **Documentation:** Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions, treatment plans, progress notes, and outcomes.
- **Support and Advocacy:** Provide ongoing support and advocacy for clients, connecting them with additional resources and services as needed.
- **Compliance and Ethics:** Ensure all counseling activities comply with ethical guidelines, legal requirements, and organizational policies.

 

Qualifications

- **Licensure:** Must hold a current and valid license as a counselor (LISAC, LCSW, LPC).
- **Education:** Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
- **Skills:**
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to engage and motivate clients.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in developing and delivering educational content.
- **Knowledge:** Deep understanding of substance abuse disorders, treatment modalities, and recovery principles.
