Job DescriptionJob Description

Senior Accounts Payable Clerk

A company in Silver Spring, MD is looking for a Senior AP Clerk to join their team. This will be a temp to hire contract with a salary ranging from $60-75k, commensurate with experience. Hybrid schedule with 3 days onsite (4 days onsite during training period).

Responsibilities include:

  • Review and verify check requests in Lawson AP system for proper approval, coding and vendor selection.
  • Determine if payments are coded to appropriate expense accounts and make changes as needed
  • Communicate payment request related discrepancies/variances
  • Follow up with management on disapproved payment requests
  • Void and reissue payments
  • Identify and record check requests that are reportable and gather information for yearly filing
  • Handle vendor calls regarding status of invoices
  • Review travel expense vouchers, verify compliance, and process for payment
  • Process abandoned property for outstanding AP checks
  • Reclassify miscoded accounts to the general ledger

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma required; Associates preferred
  • 2-7 years experience in AP
  • Prior General Ledger experience
  • Microsoft Office Suite; intermediate Excel skills
  • Must be able to pass company issued assessments
