About the Position:
The System Administrator, also known as a Sysadmin, is responsible for monitoring and maintaining Visante’s technology infrastructure, applications, and systems. As a key member of the IT Operations team, the Sysadmin will collaborate with stakeholders across Operational, Administrative, Executive and consulting teams to ensure seamless technology support at Visante.

Work Location and Travel: Remote (USA), minimal travel expectations

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Microsoft 365 Administration:
  • Set up and configure Microsoft 365 services.
  • Manage Azure AD configurations, user authentication, and access controls.
  • Address security incidents using Microsoft 365 Defender.
User Account Management:
  • Create and manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
  • Enforce password policies and handle password resets.
  • Ensure proper access controls to sensitive data and resources.
Application Administration and Maintenance:
  • Implement, configure, optimize, and maintain software applications.
  • Track and ensure compliance with software license agreements.
Hardware Management:
  • Maintain an inventory of hardware assets such as laptops and devices.
  • Plan, execute and maintain hardware upgrades as needed.
Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
  • Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize resource usage.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to hardware, software, and network components.
Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate documentation of configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Document system changes for change management purposes.
Collaboration and Communication:
  • Collaborate with IT professionals, developers, and end-users on technical projects.
  • Communicate technical information effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:
Backup and Disaster Recovery:
  • Monitor data backup processes to prevent data loss.
  • Support disaster recovery plans to minimize downtime during emergencies.
Security and Compliance:
  • Assist the Compliance team with security audits and vulnerability assessments.
  • Support Compliance team with technical expertise and standards to ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR) and internal policies.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education and Experience:
Required:
  • 3-5 years of related experience maintaining IT systems for small to medium-sized businesses.
  • 3+ years supporting Microsoft ecosystem.

Preferred:
  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field
  • Relevant IT certifications preferred (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft Certifications, ITIL).

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
