Systems Administrator - St. Paul, MN

The Systems Administrator is responsible for maintaining and optimizing the organization's server and network infrastructure. This role involves analyzing system requirements, resolving technical issues, installing hardware and software, and providing support to the internal IT Helpdesk.

This is a full-time role which will be based in St. Paul, MN. Target pay is between $90-120k.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience:
    • 5 years of experience in IT Helpdesk support
    • 5 years of experience with the full Microsoft Product Suite
    • 5 years of experience with VMWare
    • Proficiency in telecommunication design, processes, and procedures
Key Responsibilities
  • System Monitoring & Maintenance: Oversee, maintain, and troubleshoot server, network, and voice infrastructure.
  • Infrastructure Design & Implementation: Develop and deploy new server, network, and voice infrastructure solutions.
  • Systems Management:
    • Manage 8x8 Phone systems
    • Oversee Hyper-V and VMWare Hypervisors
    • Maintain HPE, Dell/EMC, and Cisco UCS Server hardware
    • Administer Hybrid Azure and Exchange environments
    • Manage network hardware including Cisco, HPE, Barracuda, and Ubiquiti
    • Oversee Barracuda Email Protection Systems
    • Manage Windows Server 2012R2 - 2019 environments
    • Administer RDS environments and all backup infrastructure
    • Test and update Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions
    • Manage SCCM Environment
  • Data Center Oversight: Handle all aspects of datacenter infrastructure, including power, HVAC, and housekeeping.
  • Helpdesk Support: Provide backup support to the helpdesk team as needed.

  • Communication & Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to train and influence others.
  • Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of security, network, and systems administration, along with experience in managing large IT projects.
  • Problem-Solving & Decision-Making: Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Project Management: Proven ability to manage projects effectively and prioritize tasks efficiently.
Essential Functions
  • Communication: Must be able to communicate effectively through phone, email, and other digital platforms.
  • Training & Documentation: Develop, maintain, and update training programs, record-keeping, and data tracking.
  • Technical Instruction: Ability to explain complex technical concepts in simple terms and train others on personal computer systems.
