Job Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Designer / Assistant Project Manager to join our team. In this hybrid role, you will combine design expertise with project management skills, contributing to both the creative process and the efficient execution of projects. You will support design development using tools like AutoCAD and Revit while also coordinating project activities, managing schedules, and overseeing team performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and Technical Support:

    • Assist in developing design concepts, schematics, and detailed drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant software.
    • Collaborate with the design team to produce layouts, equipment plans, and construction documents.
    • Attending and conducting investigative site visits.
    • Technical writing.
    • Perform calculations (with supervision.)

  2. Project Coordination and Management:

    • Assist in managing project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure all tasks are completed on schedule.
    • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including architects, engineers, and contractors, to facilitate smooth project workflows.
    • Support the preparation of project proposals, reports, and presentations, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up to date.
    • Assist publicly bid projects through the bidding process using online bidding services like Biddocs.com and Project Dog.
    • Provide typical construction administration duties, including submittal review, attending construction site visits, creating and reporting meeting minutes and observations to the project team.

Qualifications:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey design concepts and project updates.
  • Background in Architecture, Engineering, Interior Design, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in design, with hands-on experience using AutoCAD, Revit, and other design tools.
  • Proven experience in project coordination or management, preferably within a design or construction environment.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Willingness to learn while providing and receiving constructive feedback with a small and solutions driven team.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience managing, creating, and maintaining BIM models to support growing REVIT library.
  • Associates or bachelors degree related to the construction industry.
