Job Summary: As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will play a crucial role in our financial operations by managing and processing all accounts payable transactions related to our construction projects. You will work closely with our accounting team and project managers to ensure accurate and timely payment of invoices while maintaining strong vendor relationships. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a passion for accuracy in financial transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process, verify, and code invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.

  • Review purchase orders, contracts, and receipts to validate vendor invoices.

  • Maintain a systematic and organized accounts payable filing system.

  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

  • Communicate with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams to address payment inquiries and issues.

  • Prepare and process check runs, ACH transfers, and wire payments as necessary.

  • Assist in month-end closing activities and financial reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (preferred)

  • 3+ years of accounts payable experience, preferably in the construction industry

  • Proficienct in accounting software and MS Excel

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment

  • Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines

  • Knowledge of construction industry terminology and processes (preferred)
