Essential Information: Manages the front desk triage/reception area of the food market; greets clients in a courteous and timely manner, directs clients on shopping process in the market; make referrals to outside community resources as needed or requested, and assists in the screening and coordination of special needs of clients.

Duties:

·        Must have excellent customer service skills, able to work with diverse populations and able to communicate effectively with customers and staff; Fluent speaking and writing (interpretation and translation) proficiency in Spanish required; additional compensation is based on proficiency level

·        Requires some competency in basic computer applications to help process intake and complete date entry

·        Determine client eligibility for food services based on household size

·        Make the appropriate internal agency referrals, including housing, crisis intervention assessment, employment and public benefit supports

Essential Qualifications: Excellent inter-personal skills requiring good judgment and tact to communicate effectively with clients and team members demonstrating a range of emotional behavior.  Ability to assess client needs and provide direction and resources as needed.  Respect for diversity in clientele and staff.  Ability to exercise sound judgment and problem solve a variety of situations.  Knowledge of in-house and external community resources.  Ability to work in a fluid and occasionally high demand environment.  Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word and Microsoft TEAMS software programs.   Ability to accurately enter information into a database is required.

Requirements: May include but not limited to updated resume, professional volunteer or employment application, Liability Waiver, Background Check, Drug-Free Workplace Acknowledgement, Disclosure of Confidential Records Agreement.

Work Environment: Retail environment – requires standing and sitting, stooping, bending, walking, talking, seeing, and hearing.

Parking: Private lot for customers and employees
