We are seeking a Project Engineer for our Houston-based client. The selected candidate will work with all functions of the business and customers to support large, complex projects and technical challenges. This is a newly created, high-profile role for a manufacturing company that seeks to bring EPC project management experience to its team.

The ideal with have experience as a Project Engineer while working for an EPC company with on projects ranging between $20MM to $200MM. The candidate will be able to provide both project management for large projects, as well as provide answers to technical engineering questions.

This role is responsible for the following:

  • Provide project engineering planning for all aspects of large engineering projects from concept to completion
  • Develop customized Quality Control plans based on customer specifications
  • ·Communicate effectively with project teams, sales, executive leadership, and customers regarding technical elements of projects
  • Lead technical discussions and negotiations with clients and suppliers
  • Lead risk review meetings to determine potential risks to project objectives and maintain cost control
  • Understand customer requirements and participate in engineering review meetings
  • Lead project review teams
  • Provide technical responses to customers
  • Support and lead factory acceptance test (FAT) plans for large, complex projects
  • Represent the company by attending conferences and participating in professional associations

Essential Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of ANSI, IEEE, IEC, ASCE, National Electric Code and/or NFPA standards
  • Experience working for an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) company and/or major EPC projects
  • Some knowledge of manufacturing environments preferred
  • Familiarity with LV and MV Distribution products
  • Ability to read, analyze, and understand electrical specifications, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.

Qualifications

  • BS Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 10+years of related experience
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards and codes, including IEEE, NEC, and IEC
  • Experience working large greenfield projects
  • Highly motivated self-started who is highly organized
  • Ability to work well and communicate with all departments and clients
